It's all good except the CPU is extremely weak. It feels simply not as smooth as a snapdragon and also way slower than a 5600G. I have owned 3x 226v and one 256v. The battery life is serious not good at all when you have light to medium load. With a 70wh battery it lasts less than half of a 14" MacBook Pro m2 pro.

From the experience I recommend snapdragon if you don't have compatibility issues.

Once upon a time this would've been a decent deal. There is a flood of great sales for 16gb laptops. 16gb is the fast becoming the new 8gb and would NOT recommend anyone spending 1000+ on any windows 16gb considering the great pricing out there

What are you basing this advice on? Sure, if you use your computer for certain specific tasks, then more RAM is good/essential but if this is the case you already know this. Anyone who can't explain to me what they do with a laptop that requires lots of RAM is going to be perfectly fine with 16GB and I would chance 90% of the users and probably 99% of targeted audience for this laptop have zero need for more than 16GB of RAM and would get by just fine with 8GB. This obsession with RAM is completely pointless when there are so many more important specs for user experience such as CPU speed, screen quality, battery life,... RAM is way far down that list.

Hardly an obsession - AI anyone? Apple's recent base model increase was not a spontaneous act of generosity, nor was it due to an unforeseen OS change. Soon, 32GB of RAM will be inadequate for many AI applications. The RAM requirements have been consistently overlooked, while other system metrics have seen substantial growth. For users whose computing needs are limited to social media and online shopping, mobile devices offer a superior solution. A reevaluation of the intended purpose of a computer is necessary for most users.

Hey needs help me out

Primarily, I need 1TB for photos nd vids to keep forever of my family. Nothing work related or projects or any of that is

I also would like to use said device for binge watching at night every now nd then when the chance is given. But really, just a safe place to put those photos nd kids in.

Would call recommend this or a tablet? Samsung or Apple?

I've had Apple, it's whatever. I prefer Samsung. Tablet cause id also like to use the damn thing. I already have them stored on portable SSDs if your wondering. But im not sure if laptop or tablet

What's your take on it?

A 1TB SSD in a laptop is not a safe place for photos. Not if it is the only location. 3-2-1 backup scheme. 3 copies of the file on 2 different types of storage with 1 being off-site (or in the cloud). That's a good start.

This laptop is great except the screen will crack. My son has the first version and all of the other versions have an issue where the screen just cracks on his own.

I ordered the 14" book pro 5, and will confirm that you are indeed correct - down to 20% of battery after just 2-hours video editing and rendering with Premiere. Not happy with that at all Frown
