I bought 165 bags last year, the color hasn't changed. But, this is absolutely the worst mulch you could find. Tons of huge pieces from pallets, blue and red pieces, lots of big rocks, lots of random pieces of metal and plastic and curled up nails. And of course the random garbage.

I've seen it for 5 for 10 but this mulch is just tooo fine. The home depot one is better. Hoping for a deal on those
Home depot will also discount torn bags. I bought 10 bags from their 50% section because the bags were damaged, $1.80 per 2cu.

With the LA fires one might reconsider this stuff, its just kindling waiting for a spark to burn right?

If you get Sta-Green, expect garbage, plastic, nails and tarp pieces. Check the bags for white mold too if you can. It happened a lot even in my tree planting soil bags 🤢

Here we go with the misinformation again. White mold is fine. It's good mycelium that breaks down the natural wood when there's a greenhouse effect being trapped inside a plastic bag with warmth and moisture. In nature, that white mold is crucial for nutrient cycling and soil health.

It's good! Yes!! But I've unfortunately had two years of getting the mold PLUS the stupid red fungus that grows later. I'm sorry, I'm going to say, watch out for awful SMELL!

My city gives free much every year just to get rid of it. They trim the trees and dump it in a big pile about 1/2 a mile from me. Just bring a shovel and fill up your truck bed. Plus, you don't get all the syringes and trash! Bonus!

Ahh yes the infamous stinkhorn, you can only really get rid of it by digging it out from the bulbs

Here in Central CA, in my opinion the Stagreen is an inferior product compared to the other Premium brand (or whatever the other brand is). I got both types in black color just prior to the sale when it was $2.50 per bag. The Stagreen is larger wood pieces, stringy, and not a uniform black color so it looks much lighter. I was actually impressed with the Premium brand of the mulch but when I went back for more bags they were sold out and had switched to the Stagreen brand.

Dont' recommend this mulch. Quality has really gone downhll. It doesn't hold the color for more than a few months and isn't the quality of Scotts.

Home Depot has 4/$10 Scotts Earthgro right now! Not $2, 2.50, but I nabbed it because I like it more than Lowe's mulch and I need it now!

Looks like the Earthgro is 1.5 cubic feet vs 2 cubic feet for the StaGreen
