That steam hardware survey gonna be swinging red slightly next month so nvidia is throwing crumbs with these craps 5070's suddenly in stock to keep the market share. They are sacrificing a tiny AI profit to keep the mind share. Don't give it to them greedy SOB's! 8 and 12 gb cards in 2025 is planned obsolescence in a very short period.
There is a reason the 5070 is the only modern GPU selling at MSRP.
yes, the 9070xt

Nvidia will never put out a gpu at a decent price until people stop buying the junk they keep putting out. They got a taste of money during COVID and haven't looked back since

Let's be real, no one trusts AMD anymore. I'm not saying Intel and NVIDIA's practices are much better, but there's a reason AMD is seen as the budget brand. Don't even get me started on their awful CPU's.
i have 9070xt pulse, games at 4k well on my g7 4k 144 monitor(43'). its a great budget card

While I do think that Nvidia skimped on the 5070, it is still a little faster than a 4070 super. A good 1080p or 1440p card if you can find one for $550.
Sad but true. In many ways, the 5070 is a successor to the 4070 in name only, much like the 4070 was the name-only successor to the 3070. The 3070 was actually a really good card - it usually outperformed the 2080. The 4070, while efficient and not a bad card, should have been the 4060ti and priced accordingly. Similarly, the 4070ti should've been the standard 4070, the 4060ti the 4060, and the existing 4060 the 4050.

Nvidia has been playing this game for awhile now, so it's no surprise. One reviewer even joked that the 5070 is really the 5050.

Just imagine we consumers hold on to our old GPU for another year or so, Nvidia would collapse in prices below MSRP way down. Only reason they still high in prices because we become theirs suckers for so long. Nvidia is such a small company when they started out, now they are bigger than apple, amd and bunch other companies combined. Stop buying theirs product for a while, is the only way we mean business
They could not care less. They make 95% of their profits in the AI market. They're just throwing gamers a bone by still dabbling in GPUs. Their tech is still top notch. Where would we be without upscaling. Oh lord were gamers complaining about that a few years ago. Now it's essential tech.

No way, 4060 is trash, 5070 seems worth it for $550 especially when you can't even get a used 4070 for that in my area.
57% price increase for 42% performance increase but hey you do you.

Okay then show us the RTX 4070 super to buy for less than 550? Crickets? ah. It's because they don't exist. So this argument is irrelevant
Yeah, they stopped making the last Gen cards. That doesnt change the fact that the 5070 is not an upgrade to the 4070 Super.

Other $500+ cards sell out in minutes, but the 5070 has been pretty available for the last 2 weeks. I wonder why that is?

Anyways, for people who really want an upgrade to their 3070 or slower... I would say buy this card. Who knows whats going to happen with these tariffs.

Is the backplate and fan shroud metal or plastic? I know some cards cheap out on plastic backplates (cough MSI cough)
I got the Aorus Elite. Thing is built like a tank and rgb looks amazing. Not an MSRP model but The extras i think were worth $150 and the fact that they were almost impossible to get. When I was able to add one to cart i couldnt help but click submit order. Cool

In between the 4070 Super and the 4070 TI but closer to the 4070 Super (not counting new features like multi-frame generation). About 3-5% faster than the 4070 Super in most cases.

Guess I'll wait to see if they'll do a 5070 super next year.

Years long 1440p cards... sucky innovation.. the 1980s laughs at this shit...

They might, just keep in mind that gaming video cards are sort of a hobby to nVidia now. They make all their money on AI data centers now. Only dies with manufacturing errors get detuned into such mid range video cards. They have no incentive to make affordable cards. And with tariffs in place, prices will almost certainly remain high for the foreseeable future. We don't see $600 9070 XTs anymore either, do we?
