When's the last time anyone Needed a 10 or 14mm socket?
There's also CRAFTSMAN Mechanics Tool Set, SAE/Metric, 3/8-Inch Drive, 40-Piece (CMMT12018) [amazon.com] for $40 where you get both SAE and Metric AND deep well sockets. Also comes with an extension. Only potential downside is that they are 12 point, not 6 point, which might not matter to you. Also, no f'ing screw driver tips.

But why?
Six point grip the bolts better. Occasionally something will be hard to get to and it helps to have more "points of entry" to get a slightly longer throw, but that's pretty rare.
I was surprised when my car's driveshaft had literal twelve point bolts on a driveshaft. That was unexpected. And I was off to buy a single 12-point socket…
