I bought a brand new one from Walmart (during the holidays) the past two years for about $30ish -- so this deal doesn't seem slick at all!

EDIT: the Walmart version is an exclusive to them that only lacks the rechargeable remote, but I can buy rechargeable AAs for a lot less than $20.

I don't think the Walmart version of the Ultra has a USB port which is nice to have for external media with a flash drive.

I used to be a Roku Ultra fan boy and had one on every TV. However, two things prompted me to move to Apple TV exclusively:
  1. The user interface on Roku is cluttered with ads and suggestions and stuff I don't need to see.
  2. I now use Channels DVR for time-shifting and media library, and it is supported on nearly everything except Roku. Channels works also on Fire, but see #1.

Walmart was Ultra LT - $35.
"What is the difference between Roku Ultra and Roku Ultra LT?
The Roku Ultra and Roku Ultra LT are both excellent streaming devices, but they have some differences. They both offer our best picture quality with 4K and Dolby Vision, and the option to use a wired Ethernet connection. That said, Roku Ultra also includes top-notch features like our best audio quality with Dolby Atmos, the advanced Voice Remote Pro, Wi-Fi 6, and a USB port for playing local media. On the other hand, the Roku Ultra LT is a more budget-friendly option with an enhanced Voice Remote. Choose the Roku Ultra if you want the best features or go with the Ultra LT for a great experience at a lower price."

The Ultra LT does Dolby Atmos using passthrough instead of processing it on the device -- you really don't need the Roku itself to process Atmos.

True on the USB port, but IMO a better method is to have the media on a PC or server and just stream it from there. I use Emby for that, and Plex is another popular choice.
