I took the bait.
It is uncomfortable to do the id verification. Veriff must be paying this 200 dollars phone to Total Wireless in exchange for the buyer credentials. Thoughts?

"veriff" founded and operates in Estonia. Hard to wrap my mind around the deal that gets me to ship my IDs of to Estonia trustkeeping. Thanks for the heads up on that. Hard pass
The EU has stronger personal data protection regulations than the US. Myself, I won't do the ID verification no matter where just to buy a cheap phone.

Is there anyway to take advantage of the keep your own device 50% promo with this? Try to use this phone after 60 days?

Most likely not. You better off using the BYOD deal and purchase the phone off Motorola site anyways. This is an entry level phone that cost less than 200 bucks. Requiring a month of 50+ plan and additional 50 bucks for a phone that's hardly 200 isn't slick at all

I've been entry-level my whole life.

Has anyone tried doing a speed test using a total wireless phone ? I find it peculiar that this company doesn't have working phones in their store to demo. Cricket wireles does the same thing. I tested their services out last week and got connected at around 20 mbps. I get speeds of 200 to 350 mbps with tmobile prepaid all day and everyday. 50 bucks a month!!

Estonia has one of the best cyber security and relevant regulations in the world.
They were the first to embrace digitization of government.

Total wireless is pretty much the only player left with a better unlock policy (60 days) combined with very decent device deals. However, the biggest bummer is that it needs a 'selfie' and 'id document like DL' upload to a third party (veriff or something) which is a huge red flag (personally for me, others may disagree).Secondly even if we assume that total and veriff are the most ethical organizations and take their word for deleting the information an/or protecting it from leak, still it should be used wisely as they can still share the data across mnvos and restrict purchases of devices and plans, or potentially share it with the govt or other authorities, hypothetically.Having said that I would still do a deal (once in a while) with total for a potentially better deal like an iPhone 16e for $360+tax (a couple of weeks back) rather than waste the chance on cheaper phones. Again that's just me, others may disagree.
Total is not the only mvno with the 60 day unlock: StraightTalk, Tracfone, Walmart Family Mobile, Visible, Simple Mobile and Verizon prepaid and postpaid.

My area in N Cal with using my ST and Total phones usually get 75-120 mbps and T-Mo is usually 150+, but the big difference is that T-Mo struggles with loading in areas that have good signal strength, but poor up load speeds or zero ability to get on the internet. Verizon still has better coverage in the boonies, especially in our Sierras and the PNW.
EDIT: forgot to add that the two Total stores I visited in N Cal, both had working phones to demo. Total dealers are all independently owned so a ymmv situation.

How does this compare to the Galaxy A35 with 6gb of RAM? This one has 8gb of RAM, right?

Saw this con clearance at a Target over the weekend for $170 but it was for Consumer Cellular. Looking online, it looks like Consumer Cellular only requires 30 days of service to unlock. Anyone have experience with Consumer Cellular? Would like to pickup this phone for my girlfriend's father to to swap out his ancient Android that he has on Mint.

For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service.

Need 60 days paid service.
