My wife bought me one of these (same concept) years ago. Never found a real use for it. My only guess it could be handy if you had to constantly juggle tools from hand to hand but didn't want / couldn't use a tool belt. Storing screws, nuts, bolts, etc on it sounds like you are asking for trouble or an exercise in finding lost objects.

Same. I ended up cutting out magnets and just using them on diy projects cause the magnets were top notch

Wow....the concept of cannibalizing the magnets never occurred to me even if I use magnets for 3D projects from time to time.
