I wonder if this will make pipe joint solders more precise. Had to do some repairs in my walls with a MAP torch between studs supporting a shower mixer. Kinda worrying, me the amateur, but had my extinguisher on hand. But I'll be damned if I'm gonna pay a plumber

I paid $2k for a shower valve replacement. The plumber did the worst soldering job with bulbs everywhere and "forgot" to wipe the flux after soldering. I had green patina everywhere, only where he soldered. The patina is an acid and will eventually cause a leak.

2nd plumbing company installed the hot and cold water lines backwards on my washer.

3rd plumber installed the toilet where the water level was too high..

Do you trust these plumbers?

All of these were highly reviewed on yelp and not big scammer plumbing companies.

the story is the last DOD that I was intrested in my local Lowes said OOS on the website but I happened to be in store and checked and there was 5 on the shelf. I tried to PM but the low level manager said NO! No PM

I bought this about a month ago for $50 iirc. Website only showed 1 in stock so I wasn't really expecting to see any, but they had at least 4.

Here's a trick that plumbers use when they don't have fireproof pads. Wet down the wood and tape.up.some wet plywood scraps. The.sctaps will blacken and burn before the permanent wood. I'll be dammed if I call anyone let alone a plumber. Licensed doesn't always mean pro...just that they paid the 35$ cut to the Municipality.

I'm not going to jump on this primarily because I've got a larger torch-on-a-hose that suits my needs just fine, but also because I'm deeply suspicious of Bernzomatic's ignitors. It'd be interesting to hear any evidence that this one is not terrible, is serviceable, etc. Flint strikers work fine for me.

I don't think this is for plumbing. Looks like it's more for creative precision stuff like jewelry, craft projects and smaller items.
