How is the quality on this Scott's stuff. Usually buy Vigoro but haven't seen as many deals for that lately.

Thanks for that tip. Just checked and indeed this is the case. Blessed to have both Lowes and Home Depot within 2 miles of each other. Heading to Lowes this afternoon.

I usually jump on these mulch deals, but this year was, get it done professionally with that real mulch smell I miss. 2 yards worth with labor $200.
I did the Walmart one. 2.50 shipped is too good. Landscapers around here charge 150/yd

Please don't fall for this garbage.

1.5 cu. ft??
so basically paying $10 for 7.5 cu. ft.

Go to Lowes and get 10 cu. ft for $10

This is not shrinkflation, this is HD trying to pull a fast one.

Man I really think I am just going to pay for mulch install this year. Place around us did it for $50 a yd and just went to $60 but this is $36 a yd. $24 extra a yd to not have to worry about getting it and install. Even delivered mulch is very similar to this price (location dependent) just have to pay delivery fee.

New to landscaping. Do I just dump these on top of last year's mulch?

Yeah, the price being quoted for Lowe's is not Scott's. It's a repackaged version of their brand. Scott's prices for the mulch settled around $2 for 1.5 cu ft around COVID as someone previously mentioned. It is also about the time Scotts discontinued their triple shed which was a very good quality mulch! Miss that one.

We bought the Scotts from HD last year for the front areas and then decided to buy Menard's brand at 2cu ft for the sides and back. I know most mulch - especially black - gets spotty reviews no matter the brand, but I seem to recall the Menard's Mulch was a better quality than the Scotts. Since it is on sale everywhere by everyone, I may try a few bags of each for comparison before committing to one of the brands.

This is good to know! Thank you. I was wondering if the quality was any different because I need to do mulch here soon as well. But sounds like the Menards really is a good option!
