The Delta 2 Max is a workhorse. They are 2k size battery bank that will power things all weekend long when camping and can be expanded with up to 2 extra batteries. The power, size, weight, capabilities is just kinda the sweet spot. The Alt Charger is a game changer. It is a DC/DC charger but can charge at 800w and is a solid unit. This really is a great unit for those looking for RV or portable power.

I have an Alt Charger. Took me about 15 min to install and has worked perfectly for the last 9 months. You rarely see these two items at this price point to be honest.

Yes it can. Every set up is different. I have mine set up to my main battery but a good friend has theirs set up to the house battery. Again it all depends on your RV build.

I got these and an extra battery through Costco Next for about $1500 which I think was a better deal which doubles your battery storage.

with that setup (delta 2 max and extra battery connected), does the alternator charger recharge both at the same time?

It can be. However this one is meant more for portable use. But some do use it for home back up and to feed power back into grid. It is only 2k wh power storage but expandable up to 6k with 2 extra batteries.

The Alt Charger connects to an extra battery port. Since the Delta 2 Max has 2 you can have the Alt Charger connected and charging both the Delta 2 Max and extra battery at the same time. I do this with my Delta Pro. Some other units only have 1 extra battery port (Delta 3 Plus) and in that case you cannot charge both at the same time.
With a Delta 2 Max you can. But you cannot charge it with 2 extra batteries connected.
Hope that helps.

When Costco runs a promotion, you may spend about $500 more to get an extra battery.

Rough price. $0.5/kWh is quite high, if you're going to take the OP for it's word and assume the alternator charger is "free" lmao. Also this power station is pretty old and has a lower efficiency relative to the newer generations and higher standby losses given its inverter size.

Obviously DIY DC-DC converters are much cheaper but even other companies are getting in the game of selling "alternator" chargers for significantly less.

please link for us a 60 amp 12/24 dc to dc charger which is "significantly less". also, technically, this ecfoflow alt charger is more than just a plain dc to dc charger. being bi-directional, it can serve as an ac charger as well, as a go-between between the power station and an external battery. you plug your ecoflow power station into the wall outlet, and you can charge any 12 or 24 volt battery (no 48v) at up to 800 watts using the alternator charger.

can the victron and renogy do that with their dc to dc chargers which are also not any cheaper than the ecoflow? i don't think so. they cannot charge a 12/24 battery using ac wall power, only from a dc source.

Yes. It's a bit weird though because you can't auto reverse charge. You'll need to be careful not to exceed your house battery charging or discharging rates too, since this can add to the max draw or charge rate of the overall system.

I have three alternator chargers from bundles now.

But thinking of getting the max.

Tried to run my miter saw on the Delta 3 Plus and it was not able to handle it (should be able too...)

This is not much bigger and has a bigger inverter, might be what I need and honestly in my truck I don't need the features of the Delta 3 Plus (10ms UPS, etc)

I find using the PV feed to hook a battery to A Delta is my preferred solution to every scenario except actual in car use where I want to have bi-directional
