That's a bit subjective. These are usually made from used tires, grinded up, processed, dyed. Used tires leach all kinds of chemicals that were part of the tire recipe to make the rubber durable and not break down when subjected to oil and UV light. In addition to the chemicals, tires also leach microplastics. Is any of this good, I would say nope. This shit shouldn't be allowed to be sold, in my opinion.

Rubber? I heard or read something about a lot of toxic, cancerous things in rubber playgrounds, so I'm guessing this is the same because it uses the same materials?

I mean you ain't rolling around in it or eating lunch off it? It's used in flower beds around house I think ok

That's a silly recommendation. If you're really worried about termites, which you most likely needn't be, just use bark mulch. Termites are much bigger fans of cardboard than actual wood, BTW.

Don't do it. Doesn't provide most of the benefits of real mulch and a pita to remove.

Rubber mulch, while durable and low-maintenance, has disadvantages including potential chemical leaching, high cost, lack of nutrient enrichment for soil, and flammability.

Not good for soil and wouldn't recommend.

Lol so far from the truth. They LOVE wood, and this is true. Putting mulch around the foundation of your house invites these batards. Said exterminator was correct in his assertion.

EPA did a study a few years ago and found no issues with rubber mulch. Google for info instead of believing everything you read on here. Stuff is perfectly safe for playgrounds, The only legit issue is if used for landscaping, the plants/flowers/etc will lose the benefit of nutrients from wood mulch. But cost is the main factor people don't use it.
