I'm sure it's good and bad but I have a question for specifics. Anyone know what engine it has in it? Yes I know it's from China but what particular engine?
Probably a Loncin 3HP, but I can't verify that without having one in front of me. Loncin powers a huge amount of Chinese products. There are several YouTube reviews of this exact model; search Alphaworks 2250.

I believe the 79cc motors are Yamaha clones.

Feels like this is a smoking deal, but guessing the terrible reviews are holding it back.

Thanks for the heads up ... very much appreciated. Question for everyone and anyone ... Would this work for trying to re-charge my Ecoflow Delta Pro 3600 when it would run low on charge? Or is there a better option? Thanks for your time to consider. Stay safe.
No option for solar? I have an ecoflow and a 140w solar panel. Easy peesy.

Would this run a large fridge
This would absolutely run a large fridge. Most Fridge specs require around 6 amps. 720ish watts. You can run a fridge, freezer and a reasonable sized TV with a bunch of LED lights.

Yes. Fridges, even large ones, are not as power demanding as irons, ranges, heaters, or even hair dryers

2250 Watt max, it would struggle with a mini fridge. This is basically for some lights and maybe a computer and modem/ router.
Not true. 2250 watts is plenty to run a full-sized fridge. I ran our full-sized fridge with an 1,800 watt generator that had 2,200 watt peak.

Please be kind as I don't know as much as you guys, but would be able to run a gas furnace during winter storm, if I have the conversion outlet for it? If not, what wattage would be recommended?

Not knowing anything about your gas furnace's specs, I'd say that if all you're running is a 120VAC blower fan and 24VAC thermostat circuit (with transformer) you're likely drawing less than 1,000 watts (~8 Amps), which this unit will handle. You'd have to verify all of this on your furnace's information plate. If your furnace is run by 240VAC this is a no go. Your generator decision will rely heavily on your furnace type and operating voltage/amperage.

The issue is startup current (inrush) for the AC blower motor moving from static to set speed. Even a six amp blower motor can draw 14 to 30amps during startup which is too much for most small inverter generators. Brushless DC blower motor won't have this issue but that's maybe 5% of gas furnaces. You can add a soft start system to your furnace blower motor to decrease the inrush current. Most furnaces are not labeled with actual startup amps, so you really can't predict whether or not you can run a two-ton furnace blower off this generator.

I agree with your inrush current statement. As it's a variable that is hard to quantify, I purposely mentioned 1,000 watts as a reference, which allows a 100%+ safety margin within published generator specs.

Obviously some inverters will handle inrush loads better than others. Nailing that down ahead of time in the real world is difficult at best and will vary on both sides, power generation and power consumption, depending on the devices used. The fatter the safety margin, the better the chance of good results with inductive loads.

That firman refurb for $360 would be the ideal sub $400 buy if you are serious about having something to power during outage/etc.

Own one and ran it for 2 days straight with top offs during storm. Well worth the $500 in groceries "saved"

This is a little guy, good for light use/quick power but reliable idk
