Are these PFAS/forever chemical free? Plastic and heat (microwave) can release these toxic chemicals.

Why risk trusting plastic when you can get silicone for about the same price? Found this one after a quick search.

Either way, you're cooking food in a container made of synthetic materials. I have the 12-cup version of the Nordicware and would highly recommend it. While plastic isn't ideal, I trust USA-made Nordic Ware over the various jibberish-named Chinese silicone poppers.

Only pop popcorn in this, no oil or any other grain 🙁 Yep...ruined it on the first day. I was going to make puffed rice, bad idea, melted it. Notice the pitting where the rice melted into the plastic. I'm not so sure about the safety of it, especially now that it's compromised.
By the way, mine was from Walmart, and it says it's a 14-cup popped capacity, but I'm pretty sure it's the same size as the one here that says 8-cup.
