The a35 is good, and is likely the last of the "good" Samsung a-series phones with an SD slot. The a36 and a56 don't have them.
I got the previous (nearly identical) a54 deal and was very happy with it. The two phones are architecturally almost identical (same processors and ram). It's not a speed demon, but is fast enough to do all "normal" stuff, like social media, email, phone, etc... without any real performance problems. Maybe a gamer would be disappointed with it, and it will be getting OneUI 7 very, very soon.
Porting in a number is a hassle -- if you don't already have a phone number.
The whole ID verification is just...how do the kids say it nowadays...."totes wack".
No idea how they're storing your image and credentials -- or who has access to them -- or what the process is for them to expunge that data -- or who is ensuring they're following best practices.
Oh who am I kidding, your DL and image are being sold to the highest bidder. We all know that.

TW doesn't offer $10 cheap plan like TP, the cheapest plan(with phone number) is $40.
Also, I don't know how the "rebranding" works(someone mentioned about rebranding from TW to TP). I wish we can use the phone from TW, and use TP for 2 months for unlocking, hope someone knows the detail can share here.
When you said "try your luck", does it imply it's just a concept so far, without a successful story?
Thanks again!
Yes, that's possible because Total Wireless, TracFone, and Straight Talk are all prepaid brands that fall under the umbrella of TracFone Wireless, Inc. (TFWI).
As I explained it earlier, for rebranding your phone, you have to buy a new BYOD SIM card and activate it on respective network.
In this case scenario, you can activate your TW phone on TFone network and use it for 60 days of paid service on $10 plan. After 60 days, technically your phone should be eligible for unlock.

Need to switch to total (Port In)
Need id verification through 3rd party (selfie and DL upload).
No need to pay for 2nd month. Phone unlocks after 60 days post activation.
An option for those who do not want Motorola devices and we're looking for a reasonably powerful Samsung device (better than A15 and A16)

Yes, that's possible because Total Wireless, TracFone, and Straight Talk are all prepaid brands that fall under the umbrella of TracFone Wireless, Inc. (TFWI), which is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) offering services on the Verizon network.
As I explained it earlier, for rebranding your phone, you have to buy a new BYOD SIM card and activate it on respective network.
These 3 service providers bind their phone's IMEI with SIM cards so you can not swap SIM card or phone easily just like with T-Mobile or AT&T.
So, can I say the phone purchased from 3 service providers Total Wireless, TracFone, and Straight Talk, can be used with the plan from other brand but within these 3, that is, TW phoen can be used for ST plan; TFone phone can be used for TW plan... is that right?
If I use a TW phone on paid TFone plan for 60 days, can I call TFone for unlocking? I hope TFone won't say I didn't buy the phone from them, so can't help for unlock.
So the policy changed? I was contemplating ordering a new line but now with this 60 days of service requirement..
I originally ordered my edge in November with the 30 days of service. I only used for the 30 days and then put it away. It unlocked automatically in February and have been using it since with my postpaid Verizon service.
