For those wondering, this is in the Dreamcast/N64/PSP performance class.
This isn't really a great deal at all. This unit has been at this price range on average. I noticed this store is purposely bumping up the price to make you think $15 off is a deal. For example their TrimUi Brick is over priced as well compared to other stores. Still decent for whoever wants it, but just wanted everyone to know that the TrimUi Brick has a MUCH more premium build and feel with same performance. The Brick's software performance is probably better due to all the amazing new OS' that recently launched for this beautiful unit. The two don't feel like they're made from the same company, but they are.
This is probably the best price you'll be able to get, for a long time. Basically, any deal on Aliexpress is actually an awesome deal, looking at the future.

On top of the major tariff headlines, many people may have missed the datail about the "De Minimis" exemption which applies to all purchases from Aliexpress - now ending in a few weeks. I'm sure Aliexpress will find a way to reduce the cost from this (US distribution warehouses, other supply chain adjustments?), but the fee is $25 minimum per item! Whatever you're thinking about buying on this site should be purchased ASAP. You may not be able to get these prices again after this month. Take advantage while you can, IMO.

Anbernic, Powkiddy, and Miyoo are all running various promotions also, and coupon codes are available. You can use "newusoff10" for $10 off on orders over $40, just use a new email address. There is also a $6 off $59 coupon. Basically, you can get any of these handhelds for around $50 right now. Just make sure you're buying from a reputable seller. (none of these codes will stack with the Trimui deal, it has a better coupon)

If you're new to this (as I was a few months ago) I recommend checking out "Retro Game Corps". He has really great videos on Youtube, and a website with written guides and reviews. A serious wealth of knowledge. Seems to be unbiased in general, not a paid sponsor. His review on this one:

I got the 64gb version. Had some issues moving everything over to a 512gb samsung sd card, thought I bricked it on the first use! Couldn't be read on 3 different computers, but eventually got it reformatted, and made another attempt and moving everything to it. Works just fine now.

I counted all of the games that I could find, and if you include the several thousand repeats, this only has little over 9k games. Mostly atari era, maybe nes. It has very many img files for newer and better games, but just the img, not the game. A number of the included emulators don't come with any games at all. And many of the newer roms that are included, don't run, partially work with a lot of glitching, are partially translated but not enough to do anything, or are not at all translated.

I did add my own games to it, not all of them will load. The one included ds game, cooking mama, didn't run. But did get one of mine to run, and it is kinda funny seeing two smaller "screens" side by side. No touch functionality, but it works. This makes me want to play around with getting the recommended other OS on here and seeing what else this thing can do.

For those of you complaining about PSP performance, you're doing it wrong. Install Crossmix, enable Vulkan. Runs fine on many games (currently killing it on Little Big Planet).

While the spec is good for the money. I personally highly advise against this.

I got this from the last deal and the anbernic RG400XHX. About $36

The TrimUI have a good screen. Noticable more vibrant than the anbernic.

But the dpad is small even for my small hands. After about 25 minutes of contra for the nes. My thumb was cramped up.

Also the quality of the plastic feels cheap compared to the anbernic. And the button response and feel is mushy and not as good. Not even comparing to the anbernic. But it just feels mushy and cheap.

The plastic seams doesn't seem too tighty also.

I end selling the trimul

What would you recommend for psp?
Game dependant, but contrary to what this comment says, most PSP games runs well. Make sure to install Crossmix OS and enable Vulcan. This also runs portmaster games really well (GTA Vice city for example). Some PSP games will struggle, like F1 2009 that I tried, which for a racing game didnt give me enough framerates. But overall, most PSP games run really well on Crossmix OS. The screen also suits PSP well, as it fills the with no black bars.

I've got so many different handhelds like this. Just remember that the SD cards included with all of these are absolute junk. Go get a good name brand one and your experience will be much improved.

I'm retarded when it comes to devices like these. The site says no games included. Is it difficult to find games & get it setup & running? Any subscriptions required? For my kid. Thanks

The TrimUI Smart Pro is a retro gaming handheld capable of emulating a wide range of systems, including Nintendo 64 (N64), PlayStation Portable (PSP), and Sega Dreamcast. However, its performance varies depending on the platform and specific games. Below is a breakdown of games it can handle well for these systems:

Nintendo 64 (N64)
Initially, N64 emulation on the TrimUI Smart Pro was unreliable, with many games failing to launch. However, with the introduction of a standalone Mupen64 emulator, most of the N64 library has become playable. Games that run well include:
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Super Mario 64
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
  • F-Zero X
  • Star Fox 64
  • Banjo-Kazooie

Notable exceptions like GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark may still encounter issues depending on firmware updates.

PlayStation Portable (PSP)
The TrimUI Smart Pro performs admirably with mid-range PSP titles, often supporting upscaled resolutions (2x or 3x). Some tested and confirmed games include:
  • Tekken 6
  • Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
  • God of War: Chains of Olympus** (requires tweaks for optimal performance)
  • Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy
  • Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together
  • Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai
  • Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max

While most games run smoothly, demanding titles may require adjustments like enabling FPS cheats or using the Vulkan backend for better performance.

Sega Dreamcast
Dreamcast emulation is one of the TrimUI Smart Pro's strong suits. Most games run smoothly without significant tweaks. Examples include:
  • Soul Calibur
  • Sonic Adventure 2
  • Crazy Taxi 2
  • Power Stone 2
  • Resident Evil: Code Veronica
  • Dead or Alive 2
  • Giga Wing 2

Some niche titles may experience minor performance issues, but overall, Dreamcast emulation is robust on this device.

Summary
The TrimUI Smart Pro excels with Dreamcast and PSP games and has improved significantly in N64 emulation with updates. While not perfect, it offers a solid retro gaming experience across these platforms.

If you're going to be contradictory, you should come up with some evidence to support your statement instead of a wishy-washy "not really".

No emulation is perfect.

The fact that it can play some Dreamcast or PSP games is still better than not being able to play any.
He clearly stated "not 100%", which is true. You'll get frame dips in highly cpu intensive areas on all those systems. Don't know why you gotta come at him sideways like that.

If you're brand new to handhelds and just want to try one out but don't want to spend a lot of money the R36S sells for like $20-$35 depending on the sale and if it's the 64gb version or the 128Gb version. The 128GB version which is on average about $32 has over 21,000 games pre-loaded, including all the nintendo titles which most of the other devices leave off and you would have to download them and put them on the sd card yourself (cause they're worried about nintendo suing them). The R36S can play N64 and even many dreamcast games. For $32 bucks you can't beat it. If you spend $40-$45 you can get the BatleXP G350 which has better face buttons, d-pad, and shoulder buttons, but it only comes with 4k games.
About the R36S. Is it made by BOYHOM or Game Console or are they the same company? Also, is this the same company that makes the Game Console R39S which I like since it's larger.

Does the BattleXP G350 come with the N console games?
