That was the old way of grading. Luckily the USDA stepped in and setup a new grading system that is easier for us to understand. Maple syrup is now marked Grade A though Grade A, with Grade A and Grade A in between.

The new maple syrup grades:

Grade A Golden: Delicate taste
Grade A Amber: Rich taste
Grade A Dark: Robust taste
Grade A Very Dark: Strong taste

Maybe I need to stop by the store. Their website shows $14.99 for me.
FYI: the Amazon link seems to demand a subscription, and the coupon was there and is now gone. $15.37 for me with a subscription and more without. I'm ordering less from Amazon these days. Their AI keeps moving the pricing in ways I can't predict. Other vendors are often cheaper.
