One thing to note, the lamp assembly does get quite warm, although nothing to worry about
They have really stepped up their game over the years.
"Based on available information, here's a comparison of the Braun 500 lumen and Icon 800 lumen work lights:
Key Differences:
Lumen Output: The most significant difference is the brightness. The Icon boasts 800 lumens, while the Braun provides 500 lumens. This means the Icon will generally offer a brighter light output and potentially illuminate a larger area.
Light Functions: The Icon typically offers three light functions: a main COB LED light, a wide-area back light, and a flashlight beam (tip light). The Braun usually has a main wide-area light with high and low modes and a flashlight tip light.
Head Rotation: The Braun's LED head can often swivel 360° vertically and 180° horizontally, offering more versatile light placement. The Icon's head typically rotates 180°.
Replaceable Battery: Some sources indicate that the Braun has a replaceable 18650 battery, which is a significant advantage for long-term use. The Icon's battery is generally non-replaceable without more involved disassembly.
Build Quality and Feel: Some user reviews suggest the Icon has a better overall build quality and a more professional feel.
Folding Mechanism: While both are foldable, some users find the Icon folds more compactly and evenly, making it potentially better for pocket storage.
Price: The Braun is often less expensive than the Icon, especially when on sale.
Rear Light: The Icon has a dedicated wide-area back light, which the Braun typically lacks.
Switch: Some users prefer the click switch on the Braun over the Icon's switch.
Similarities:
LED Technology: Both lights use LED technology for efficient and bright illumination.
Rechargeable: Both are rechargeable via USB-C.
Magnetic Base: Both feature a magnetic base for hands-free operation on metal surfaces.
Foldable Design: Both fold for more compact storage.
Water Resistance: Both have some level of water resistance (Icon is often IPX4 rated).
Multiple Brightness Modes: Both typically offer high and low brightness settings to optimize battery life.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the Icon 800 lumen if: You prioritize maximum brightness, want a separate back light, prefer a potentially more robust build, and don't mind the non-replaceable battery and higher price.
Choose the Braun 500 lumen if: You prioritize a lower cost, the option for a replaceable battery, and a more versatile head rotation. The 500 lumens is still a decent amount of light for many tasks.
It's also worth considering current sale prices and personal preferences regarding the folding mechanism and switch feel. Some users on forums suggest that both are good lights, and the better choice often comes down to individual needs and budget."

Icon is Harbor Freight's top tier product line so quality is usually above par.

I broke one of these from a drop and immediately replaced it with the same model. The flip mechanism is limited on the Icon and I absolutely have to be able to flip and swivel the light. The only con against the Husky is the charging port not being usb-c. I buy the Braun light before the Icon. Function over form and the battery is replaceable. I rate them Braun>Husky>Icon.

The braun for $13.99 during the parking lot sale was a steal.
No buy with your WF credit card that has price protection. Been the absolute best way for me to always get these HF deals. The workers always tell me "just so you know, you won't be able to return and rebuy this during the sale".
Just don't drop it hard after 90 days because that how long the warranty lasts.

I have a boat load of laptop battery to quickly swap because I keep it on all the time when working on the car.

Differences higlighted below:
Braun ($13.99)
Icon: ($23.99)
Sure, nobody has a time machine so it's not an either/or, but if you picked up a couple of the Braun lights in March, know that the Icon differs by having 800 lumens (vs 500), has two additional light functions and is IPX4 rated... for $10 more.
Edited to Add: Batteries are the same, but replacing them is different (see next post)

Edited to Add: Yup, battery is replaceable, just gotta tear the light apart:
1. Unplug Adaptor from Light.
2. Remove Screw from Screw Cap.
3. Pull Screw Cap out of opposite side.
4. Remove three more Screws
5. Gently pull top from bottom to seperate.
6. Separate top half exposing Circuit Board.
7. Disconnect Battery wires from Circuit Board.
8. Remove or Replace Battery

Image in the PDF ^ shows 18650 printed on the side of the battery, so that seems to track.
The Icon is clearly not designed for battery replacement, but if you kill the battery at least you -can- resurrect the light. The Braun design makes replacement a lot easier.
