Compared to the Dell Alienware Aurora Desktop (ACT1250)this system offers a stronger overall package: it has a better CPU (AMD Ryzen 9 9900X vs. Intel Core Ultra 7), double the RAM (32GB 6000mhz vs. 16GB 5200mhz on dell), and twice the SSD storage (2TB vs. 1TB). You also get liquid cooling and better upgrade flexibility compared to Alienware desktop, which is more difficult to modify and reuse case later.
On the other hand, the Dell gives you a higher wattage PSU (1000W vs. 850W) and includes a Platinum-rated PSU versus Gold.
Another plus for this system is the 2-year warranty, which offers longer coverage compared to Dell's standard 1-year.
Overall, you're getting more performance and value with this build. Unless you have 10% coupon for dell and CB. Then dell can be had for around 2k flat.
From what I can tell, this is near the cost of building it yourself (at least when I used pcpartpicker). Also we have no clue what the pricing of these may jump up to over the coming weeks so if you're looking, I'd personally recommend buying.
The other parts are nowhere near $1400 if you shop around

This is the same price that Costco sold 4080 rigs last gen and 3080 rigs the gen before, lol. In fact, it is 100 less than the first 4080 rig they sold.

Use this for mining and make $2.50 - $3 / day, depending on the coin.

Or

$12/day renting out for GPU use. Break even would be 6.7 months then profit $360/month after that.
That's assuming electricity is free

The costco warranty more than makes up for it.

If a part from this pre-built goes bad, do you return the WHOLE PC to Costco? Assuming yes but wanted to check.

Where can you rent out a 5080 for 12/day?
Mining on the CPU+GPU is usually at a loss or barely making anything so what are you mining to get that profitability after electricity?

That's if gpu actually sold for $1000
If you're persistent you might be able to but this strikes me like people thinking a car model with bells and whistles should list at the same price as the base model and that isn't how things work.

Where are you getting these rates? Whattomine says a 5080 will only mine $0.57 per day at best and that is -$0.24 profit with $0.12 kWh

Because you say so? Top of the line gaming PCs have been this price for a long time. You must be oblivious to PC pricing.

Can't bring myself to do it. PC prices are just so outlandish if all you want to do is game.
Top of the line gaming PC prices have been like this. If all you want to do is game, then you don't need to buy a top of the line PC to do it.

Quote from Nattefrost :
It's comical to hear all the tariffs panic hoarding
Buying a PC isn't exactly hoarding but do you really think the tariffs aren't going to keep getting worse and prices won't be impacted? Wait, you're not one of those that believes it is a tax on the foreign country, are you?

I am coming up with $1322 with PC Parts Picker without the GPU: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kjdVZc

Some liberties were taken in guessing what is in the box, but I picked middle of the line for those choices.

Sure, you could probably find deals on each part over time and get this cheaper, but not right away.

This puts the GPU cost a bit more than $1000, which is a steal right now.

I'm out of the loop. I see this has 2x16GB for RAM. Anyone know of a another fast/reliable/cheap 2x16GB or 2x32GB I can add to this?

Thanks, just ordered one. My RTX 3090 FE build is only just starting to show it's age (fighting poor MH:W optimization) and I figured this is a good enough solution that doesn't have me fighting scalpers or sitting in the cold at MC which is already two hours away.

After 90 days a PC cannot be returned to Costco. You contact warranty repair from MSI for the first year and you contact Costco Warranty for the second year.
