Why is this getting downvoted? Looks like a decent deal for a pretty fast SD

Perhaps there's negative sentiment about the Nintendo Switch 2 prices. I'm on the fence about getting one due to the price bumps.

I think so - went ahead and upvoted cause it's a good deal but yeah, still pricey for what it is overall compared to normal micro sd cards.

Well the long ship time is the valid reason, but I also suspect it has to do with a number of folks not realizing that SD Card Express is different than a regular SD card and this price looks absurd for a 512 GB SD card.

Also, from a reliability standpoint, I have had bad luck with Lexars going bad in a short time frame.

I personally only believe in buying memory when you need it. The prices generally go in one direction, DOWN. So buying now, for a system that comes out in June, and you might not need space until this fall....makes me want to wait until black Friday deals for these.

We currently don't even know what most games capacities will be.

Exactly my thoughts. It's such an interesting concept. One of my co-workers who is really bad with money told me he'll probably just grab a card right now so he just has it when he needs it. And majority of his old switch games are on cartridge haha. Me I'm actually pretty good with money and I have plenty of savings and investments and a house. And I'm like 256gb with the MK game taking 24gb and 10gb for the Donkey Kong game. And 16gb for maybe tears of the kingdom and a few other games I own I should be good for quite a while actually. And all of my games are exclusively digital haha. But hey I'm all for everybody else spending money on these things that's only going to drive the cost down for me later!

Yeah, give your boy some advice! Most of my og switch games are physical, and only a handful are digital. Switch is actually the console I have the most digital games besides PC, of course. I did start to get annoyed when traveling and having to literally switch out my games to play, and have been slowly going digital, but only for this platform device. But again, I plan on purchasing what has some benefit in speed or price when I make my purchase. My backlog is ridiculous, so I no longer even need to purchase day one titles for ps5 or switch, and on xbox, Gamepass helps for day ones. Happy gaming and budgeting, my friend!

No, history has shown companies will collide to bring NAND flash memory prices up of they want to

To this day people are still upset for not burning 4tb NVMEs when they were $140

Also, geopolitically, I wouldn't count on tech coming from Asian markets to stay cheap….and I don't need to explain what happens to Samsung cards if Taiwan gets visited.
