These are the LG pouches. They are 48v style arrangements. Then they buck the voltage up to 400v. This method isn't used anymore in the industry for residential. Most are switching to just the 48v straight to the inverter. As well as switching to lipo4. If you have no cell failures the lifepo4s will last longer for time of use load shedding. If you just doing backup shouldn't really make a difference

Eco worthy's prices are sure tempting, but it only offers a 1 year warranty which concerns me. At least LG offers a 10 year warranty like most other battery manufacturers.

Can you replace an older Tesla powerwall with this using the existing inverter?

Review the inverter compatibility list mentioned earlier in the thread. It's unlikely.

I am trying to build an off grid system in my backyard - I want to slowly start but is this a great battery deal I can start with? Which inverter shall I get? I would like to get some panels to begin with and go from there. Appreciate the help

I think I already know that answer to this already, but can you mate this with a Tesla powerwall?

Aren't LG batteries a bit blow-up-y? I'd had 4 EV with LG batteries and they all had a recall.

The LG 16H Prime Battery is compatible with several inverters, provided they meet specific software versions. Here are some compatible models:
SolarEdge Inverters
• SE3000H-US, SE3800H-US, SE6000H-US, SE7600H-US, SE10000H-US, SE11400H-US (Software version: 4.21.23 or above)
• SolarEdge Backup Interface required for backup capability.
Growatt Inverters
• MIN 3000TL-XH-US to MIN 11400TL-XH-US (Software: UEaa-05/ZAca-05 or UEaa-21/ZAca-21).
Solis Inverters
• S6-EH3P5K-H-EU to S6-EH3P10K-H-EU (Software version: V02B38D01 or above).
GoodWe Inverters
• SH5.0RT to SH10RT (Software: SAPPHIRE-H_03011.51.07 or above)

Confirmed lithium, so old tech.
LFP is the cathode just like NMC, NCA, LMO, LCO etc. They are all Lithium-ion and not necessarily old technology. It is all about cell design and quality of materials and processing.
Note that this is only describing the cathode, not the anode, packaging (Cyl, Pri, Pouch). LG is likely using an NMC cathode and their cells are generally very good.

Hmm the eco worthy has a little less capacity (14.3kWH) but is also $350 less before taxes.. I dont really see any reason to pick the LG over the Eco since compatibility wise the Eco seems to be universally compatible with most inverters. I dont recall if the Eco is UL listed for permitted projects, guessing the LG is since its listed for commercial projects? Overall cheaper than a Rixu so maybe the LG is the sweet spot if you want a self contained power wall like this instead of making your own battery bank for even cheaper.
Eco worthy has no UL listing. Make sure your in a jurisdiction that is ok with that. Modern NEC code requires ESS to be listed. Don't give your home owners insurance reason to deny a claim.

Not ul9540 or 9540a
This is LGs old battery. It's not manufactured anymore and hasn't been in awhile.
Keep in mind these will need to be at least three feet apart of you are installing two.
I can also source this for cheaper if you really need them. Use the growwatt ATS and inverter. This setup is really the cheapest solution your gonna find for whole home backup. Please read up on the fire code requirements for your jurisdiction. When we install ESS we literally have to make a fire rated closet each time.

Great price on this. I just installed the 10KWH version of this and am impressed. If you have a SolarEdge Home Hub inverter, then it is pretty much plug and play. Took less than 2 hours to unpack, set up, and connect to the inverter. There is a wall mount option if required (California does). The SolarEdge software sees it and allows you to configure how you want.

Yes, Lithium NMC, but for now that is the option option you have with SolarEdge.

I only buy lithium ion power bank if it has LG, Sony or Panasonic inside. Tesla also considered these 3 battery makers to partner and eventually chose Panasonic. This 16kWh powerbank is LG. What battery company does Eco use for their devices?

Be careful, though. SolarEdge uses the same part number (e.g. SE6000-US) for their older (pre 2021) inverters which do not support batteries. New ones that are "Home Hub" inverters do support batteries. If getting, make sure you have Home Hub inverter
