Verizon has owned them for a while
But they are not the same company & the question was if a Verizon sim would work in a locked ST phone - the answer is No - a VZ SIM won't work until ST phone is unlocked.

What is Walmart have to do correctly if you pick up at the store so this will actually activate and everything
The original question wasn't about rebranding or use on TF.

I bought a iPhone 13 deal two months ago from Walmart for 199 and the 55 plan gold unlimited on Febr uary 1 month active and the next month didn't refill thinking after the 60 it will unlock automatically but it didn't..I tried to unlock it going to the straight talk unlocking policy and said it was inelegible... ended up buying another month of service to comply with the 60 days of service and I hope by may it will be eligible to unlock

Yes I did that after the 60 days cause it was showing sim locked..then I removed the sim card with the phone off put it back again turn it on and the same it was showing sim locked...I had to contact customer service to try to unlock but they told me since it was only one month active it was inelegible..cause unlocking policy changed since April 1th ...so they recommended to add another month to comply with the 60 days active...so I did that and waiting on this month to end to see if unlocks automatically or I'll have to call customer service
