i'm assuming if i have the latest galaxy watch i would have the same fitness trackers already built in and this is cut down version?

Then yours is better than most. I do not have this particular one, but that has been my experience in the past.

It seems this one, I'm wearing it now, does count arm swings if over a certain number. It seems 10 is the magic number. I'd say its a good watch. It does count jolts, but it seems off as well. I just walked around my office for around 56 steps, but it counted 77. Now I have to question everything....
