Honestly, Shark vacuums aren't the best when it comes to longevity. But $138 will get you a machine that can do hard floors, carpets, stairs, etc. with relative ease.
Anecdotally, I own this vacuum. It's a favorite in the family. Been going strong for about 2 years now.
