This is an incredibly flexible and rugged tool for athletes engaged in nearly any activity including running, hiking, scuba diving, golfing, and skydiving. It has nearly all the functionality of the fenix 8, and it's unlikely to be bricked by the next software update to "fix" or "enhance" functionality. Oh, yeah, and at this price it costs half of a similarly configured fenix 8. Folks considering purchasing this watch have not lost their minds; they are simply Slick Dealers who know what they want. If it's not the watch for you, so be it. It is the watch for someone, though.
thankfully.. it's not a smartwatch.. it's a sport watch for endurance athlete.

Still have my 6x, which has been through wars.. Full IM's. I'll keep using it until I see some pressing reason to upgrade. Still waiting..

I've been eyeing a 7X Sapphire for a while now; this is definitiely a very good price but I'm greedy... Anyone know of a way to sweeten the pot (e.g., use CC cashback to buy discount BB GC, pay with PayPal to get 5% cashback, etc.)?
There was a targeted 5% back on PayPal purchases for Chase Freedom Unlimited.

I checked all my Amex, Chase, Citi, and US Bank cards and didn't see any Best Buy offers.

I own a fenix 6 and am familiar with the features of the later fenix lines. My point is that people's willingness to "bite" at this price is eyebrow raising, considering that the 7 Pro and the 8 are now out and are only a couple hundred more. Paying over $500 is nuts.
Why are we holding the 7 pro over this watch? I understand some people prefer the 47mm size to the 51mm but it isn't superior to this model. The Fenix 8 makes more sense to your point, but it goes for more than double the price of this sale. We all have our opinions, but let's not embellish.

The 7 pro is a generational step over the 7. Generationally, it's 6, 7, 7 Pro, 8.

I confused it with the 6 and 6 pro that were released together.

Regardless, comparing apples to apples, this watch is currently priced $210 less than the $750 that the 7x pro solar sapphire is selling for now.

The main differences between the 7x solar sapphire and the 7x pro solar sapphire are the upgraded V5 sensor on the pro- and an improved flashlight (although I find the one on this watch adequate). It is up to the potential buyer to determine if those features are worth the difference in price at the moment.

No, this has an always-on MIPS display. Worse colors and lower pixel count, but much better battery life. Also, this has solar so if you're out in bright conditions you should gain some battery life.

Any reason to think the Enduro 3 will be discounted this year?
We might see a <= 20% discount around the holidays, but Garmin rarely discounts current gen watches more than that. If you know someone with a employee discount code you can already get 20% off the Enduro 3 with that.

I'm kind of torn on the original 7x deal in the OP. The 7X is a great watch (I'm an Epix2 owner), but if I was okay with a 51mm watch I don't see why I'd pay $560 for a 2 gen old model rather than getting an Enduro 3 for ~$160 more with the discount code. The Enduro 3 will get software updates for longer and also has the better screen, better solar, and extremely long battery life.

Solar is gimmick, not really useful. I'd say go for AMOLED display.

Bought this watch last September for $499 on Woot. Everything is great except for the Heart Rate sensor. It's hit or miss unless I tighten the hell out of it against my skin while bike riding. I've had better HR monitoring on a gen1 Venu. Build quality is excellent, and the built in flashlight is very, very handy. I use it every day and is easier than taking your phone out and navigating to the flashlight.

At this price, might as well pick the iWatch Ultimate model and save the change for something else. Youre not outside everyday so not useful for Solar charging.

I get that it's a slippery slope, but they havent locked anything that we already had access to behind a paywall; just some AI coach and badges
