You basically go from one branching room with enemies to another branching room with enemies.
It's pretty basic but it offers quite a bit. Easy recommendation at $15

Worth playing over, say, Returnal, Risk of Rain 2, Trepang 2, or Warhammer 40k: Boltgun? Haven't touched any of the others, but spent maybe 4-6 hours with Returnal and that game is damn fun with a lot left for me to uncover.

I originally played on game pass (was available on PC and Xbox, might still be but not sure) and had a blast.
Tons of replayability, great weapons and power ups, and many synergies to be made.
Most importantly, gameplay is extremely fluid and fun.
