Have one of these it's very handy when I can find it.. my wife took it. It will show back up though… just like her toys, i control the batteries so she has to come back.
I have a side gig as a handyman and this works great for small drywall repairs and other similar projects. Much easier to carry this into someone's house or business than a full-size shop vac if you don't need something that big.
Was not a fan of this tool, I'd spend a bit more and buy the HEPA stick vac or the suitcase type (dcv580 or 581 if you want the dual power version) vac over it any day personally.

2 areas where DeWalt is horrible: 1. 20V vacuums, 2. 12V tools.

The bad vacuums is due to incompetence, the 12V is because of a marketing decision.

This vacuum and the DeWalt alternatives others have mentioned (580 and 581) are really poor products compared to what ALL other notable brands offer.
I have a Dewalt 20V cordless dry hand vacuum and it is fantastic, insane power. The only weakness it has is when that filter gets clogged up but it's a beast.

Lol. The thumbnail made me think it was a Tonka to clean railroad tracks like the ones I see near Hoboken terminal.

Love this thing! Had it a couple years. Think kid spills in the truck/kitchen, lady bugs or spiders around the house works great!

The 20v Max stick is a better buy as previously mentioned. Currently $99 at Home Depot and 10% for military and vets.

Not meant for cleaning up monster bush shavings, never had problem
I was hoping it would be good for toilets. Nope, can't handle the majority of them.

I got this to vacuum my car, it does only so-so. I give it a 6 out of 10. Hard to navigate even with the super short detachable hose. Also, suction power is meh.

I have this and like it. I have a 16 gal ridgid shop vac with far more suction, but this is handy to grab quickly. I actually use it more around the house than in the garage.

The capacity is too small. It fills up in 3 seconds.

Chinese knockoff here for $56. Curious how it would actually compare.

The problem is you have no point of referencing. You can come back and claim otherwise, but in reality we both know you have not actually tried anything from Milwaukee, Bosch, or Makita.

You are talking about the Dcv501, and yeah it has great suction…
BUT a half cup of drywall or concrete dust will render this tool useless and force you to clean the filter. 1/2 CUP OF DUST!! Any vacuum that gets bogged down from 1/2 cup of fine dust is not a serious product and every other decent tool maker knows this.

The shittiest Milwaukee 18V rectangular vacuum has insane power too, but it doesn't lose that power after 1/2 cup, or 1 cup, or 2 cups, or 3 cups..,

Asian Beetles maybe.

Before I replaced the windows in my house every spring there would be hundreds and hundreds of Asian Beetles that would come in my bathroom. Crazy town.

I always wrap a pool filter sock around my vacuum filters to prevent them from getting clogged and make cleaning easier. I even do this for all my shop vacs. Just stretch a sock tightly over it and use a large rubber band to hold it in place, then cut off the excess all the way around. They're thin enough that they don't affect the suction power at all.
