Project Farm did a test on trimmer line and MaxPower came up to be the best. It's $13.30 for 200 ft of line so not far off of this deal.

That's 0.095" line. No idea if it would make a difference, but some "lower" tier Dewalt cordless trimmers specify 0.080" line.

I noticed that after I posted. Not sure if mine is lower tier or not since it's the 60 flex volt that was rated the best string trimmer by project farm but it uses 0.08 but can also use 0.095. But of course max power has different diameter trimmer line available. Just get the one that you know you need.

My DeWALT DCST922 string trimmer jams up every minute or two with the "whatever I had around" 0.080 trimmer line including ancient Weed Eater brand. It's almost brand new but I can't use it when I need to retool every minute or two. Really hoping this does the trick.

If it jams up it's probably the trimmer bad design. If you use cheap trimmer line, the line should just break not jam up.

It does break… but then it doesn't unspool to replace what broke even when you spool correctly and tap the head on the ground while spinning. You open up the spool to fix it and it's always somehow jammed into itself. A minute or two of trimming later and you are repeating the process. Home Depot sells identical DeWALT trimmer spools pre-loaded with line for only a little more than the DeWALT branded line but I shouldn't have to buy a new spool or trimmer head when the thing is practically brand new.

I'll get to the bottom of it! Thanks.

Yeah same thing happens to me when it breaks, I believe the electric ones (I have 80v greenworks trimmer) have high torque the cheap ones break and jam, I have to open up the spool and pull it out.

The weed warrior brand worked out real well for me so far. You can get it at Walmart. The following is the one I currently use:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FARMK5U/

You can even try that max power the other user suggested, but it's a bit thicker, the weed warrior tested by Project farm in the youtube video which performed closed to MaxPower is the not best model they have, the one I mentioned above is really good and I believe will perform close to MaxPower or maybe better.

I bought a trimmer like 3LB ALEOLIFE from one of previous SD deals it breaks and jam my trimmer every couple of minutes like you said, I threw it away.

Yep. I've been using MaxPower for years and I barely finished my 200ft. Definitely last a lot longer than this DeWALT one. I still have about half of the dewalt string sitting there not used anymore.

Had this line in .080, and it was garbage. Had feed problems and just didn't last. Other brands work much better.

You are probably installing the head spool in upside down. Check if the orientation matters.

Thanks, but there is a weird nut or something in the head that the spool only notches onto one way so I'm 100% sure it's correct… plus I've seen the in-store demos that still have tape holding the factory-installed string.

I purchased the Max Power based on the Project Farm review and it's been great in my cordless trimmer
