This processor usually never goes on sale. Has the 780m iGPU which can handle some light gaming
https://www.lenovo.com/us/outletu...83ddx011us OOS

This model is also on sale, touchscreen but 512gb ssd
https://www.lenovo.com/us/outletu...83ddx002us

RAM is soldered. SSD is a weird form factor.

16 inch anti glare non touch 45ntsc 60hz. Same deal level as the $450 vivobook s14 Lunar lake oled. Good? Maybe. But definitely not a bad deal.

At least they tell you in the main specs. But it does cut costs and allow for faster RAM usually. The latter usually boosts iGPU performance considerably, so there are a good reasons for both.

Soldered is not necessarily bad but now most SD'ers have become used to associating it as a bad connotation regardless of the price and function.

I hate soldered ram but at least it's 16 and not 8. 90% of users that don't game won't ever upgrade their ram. this is perfect for a general student or parent in today's world.

SSD is M.2, which is the fastest connection taking a RAM stick of space

Compilation of reviews on notebookcheck. Unfortunately they didn't do one themselves on this model. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Len...112.0.html

It also saves precious space in a "Slim" format laptop. At least it's pretty fast memory that most users will not need to upgrade. This is NOT a gaming laptop. What do you really expect for $400?

Good catch - I was wondering why it was slightly more $ - I took the touch screen and give up 512mb - I can upgrade that much easier than the screen!

It says that right in the heading - first word no less! But thanks for pointing that out to those who expected a new one for $400 Ha ha or who can't read on their own Cool!

I understand.expired but if anyone popping in here knows the answer to my question - much appreciated.

Does Lenovo offer an extended warranty on their own site for their certified refurbished?

Either at checkout or at registration setup?

EDIT: The second model (touchscreen) was (is?) back in stock this morning. Purchased one (since my better half needs a laptop to replace her Win10 that is not eligible for upgrade).
Really hoping at registration it allows an extended warranty purchase

Have you gotten it? Wondering about the upgrade. How difficult? What did you use?
