I would recommend the sleeping mats which can inflate without the need for an external pump. The one I have has a "foot pump" integrated that uses a foam sponge to fill a cavity with air and as you stomp on the area, pushes the air captured into the mat.

This is not really for a backpacker it seems, it's at least ~2.8 lbs. If you don't need any R-value the klymit type pads are lighter.
