Amazon has these Bristling sardines ( Sprats) for $16.76 in olive oil w subscribe and save. They melt in your mouth.I have tried many brands and find these to be very tender and delicious ! They are always whole, not a can of mush like people are saying !

Also and a major also is Brisling Sardines (sprats) have LESS MERCURY than regular sardines .Both are excellent sources of nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and vitamins. In fact, some studies indicate sprats may have a HIGHER omega-3 content than sardines.

Be very careful, these are Sprats, NOT full sized Sardines. You end up with a tin of mush !!

As someone who eats a fair amount of sardines, I would recommend something better. These are very fishy and somewhat mushy. Brunswick or King Oscar is a better bet. I personally prefer Brunswick as they are more solid and the fishiness doesn't overwhelm.
Something like these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09T77RBX3

Be very careful of what ? King Oscar brand are Sprats like many others . I have tried many brands and find these to be very tender and delicious ! I have eaten over 54 cans of these sardines and never once ever had a can that looked like that !!They are always whole, not a can of mush like people are saying ! I agree they do taste fishy but after a while you get used to the taste and these are the most tender and have less mercury and more Omega 3's than regular sardines!

Haha, you're worried about Mercury from Sardines? Wow.

I also ate a can just an hour ago, and they were firm, not mushy. Not quite the quality of King Oscar's two-layer brislings, but at less than $1/can, these are great.

Greykite's photo of mushy 'dines appears to be a different product (smoked in EVOO).

I jumped on this! I love sardines! In fact, I have a pasta dish that uses two cans of sardines and is simply delicious! At this price, I figured I'd take a chance on it.

Do sardines even have mercury? I thought heavy metals only accumulate in large predators like tuna. Sardines will only have trace amounts that you might as well pick up by eating an apple or banana

I've tried these many times before.

Always mushy.

I've bought this brand sardines a few times before. Good flavor for price, but mushy every time.
A decent buy if used in applications where the fish is going to get mashed anyway so the texture doesn't matter.

I've had these in my Subscribe and Save account for over 2 years now, 18 every two months. I have never had anything that remotely looked like that first picture. They have always been firm and tasty and that's over 200 cans now. I just had a can for a snack, delicious. Are there better ones out there, I'm sure but not at this price. I pay $14.99 after all the discounts.
