For those talking about garbage mixed in or too many sticks / rocks, these products are generally made regionally and can differ greatly because of it. So it's not too surprising something made in one facility doesn't compare to another.

it's all mulch and trash , not even soil
What state are you in and how recently have you purchased? They don't ship soil from one place all over the country, it's bagged at different facilities in different states and thus quality is very regional and seasonal.

I used to buy this junk and miracle grow at HD all the time until this year. If I may make a suggestion, try the steer manure at Lowe's. If you want to fertilize your garden , I promise you will notice the difference within three weeks. My citrus, my avocados my vegetable garden all are lush beyond belief.

The NPK metric is miniscule at best: 0.05-0.04-0.03

This won't feed your plants any considerable amount. So you'll pay for the soil, and then again for nutrients.

Also, it's best to buy in bulk, fewer plastics, fresher product, likely from local sources.

While that is true, there are clearly the lowest quality options that end up having the most trash in them because they source from the lowest bidder, worst regions. I have never gotten good quality from miracle grow non-omri certified, and it's not just "not good".. it nearly kills everything I put it in. wilted, shriveled, some just die off. Not the case with other brands. haven't tried this stuff yet, but might just get a couple to see what it's like.
After this year's fail, I wouldn't even consider taking a non omri/cdfa miracle grow soil for free for starting plants. you could use it for fill but don't bother if using for anything the roots will touch until at least halfway through maturity. let the worms and natural fungi/microbes fix the stuff before you use it for your plants.

do yourself a favor and buy something decent so you don't waste your time and effort, and an entire season on dead plants.
