Maybe, but I personally avoid 12 point sockets like the plague. Honestly, Amazon has another set on sale, a 104 piece set for $79.99 that would be a better starter unless you need to keep it in the car. I do have another Craftsman set in this style without the 1/2 ratchet that I like.

I don't know how many 12 points are in this set, but I agree. 12 points will turn a hard job into a "weld a socket onto the nut" job. They will strip out bolts and nuts like no one's business. Of course, I'm thinking of automotive work, so it depends what you plan to use the set for, but 12 point are rarely useful.

But good luck trying to discern which sockets are 6 vs 12. Seems like they make a lot of the 1/2" sockets in these starter sets 12-pt these days, I went through this when I was shopping around for Christmas gifts.
I have an older version of this set that I bought 10 years ago, and it has done everything I've thrown at it. Might want to get this set, and buy a set of 6-pt sockets separately for higher torque work

I think so. I've owned/used a lot of tools(craftsman, HF, ICON, Pittsburgh, Kutch, Diehard, Gearwrench, snap-on, Mac, SK, Tekton, etc) and have been impressed with the quality and utility of this box.

I've taken it to the track in my miata, used for random farm jobs in my truck, etc....one of the better deals available atm imo.

I like it better than the kobalt stuff the previously had.
