I still can't figure out where the cusp is.
Over 60: Cotton because I said so!
40-59: synthetic breathes and dries better!
20-39: Cotton because microplastics r bad!
In conclusion, you can't win. Nobody is completely right or wrong. But I do think the moisture-wicking aspect of synth has been seriously oversold, mostly by UA. I'm just as drenched in synthetic, just not as weighed down. It seems more mental. And it does dry 10x quicker after being removed.

I'm 43 and have had this same dilemma with my wife on socks… For daily wear, I prefer wool or even cotton, she likes synthetic heavy blends. She's also a runner though and I'm not.

60% Cotton, 40% Polyester;
Light Steel: 90% Cotton, 10% Polyester
