The Z30 does not have this, you look at the back screen to compose your photos.
This simplifies things but can also be a nightmare to nail focus if you're in a bright sunny day.
I literally just had this experience trying to get a shot with a 24-70 on a z30 and trying to track my kid. Luckily...the z30 has pretty decent autofocus but I was still shooting quite blind in terms of seeing if I'm getting things in focus.
Thank you! I don't like the sound of that. Think I'll wait. Thank you for all the info. I'm learning but sometimes, it's a slow process! 🥴
Just somehow scored a super cheap Nikon Z 18-140mm on eBay recently so nice to have an APS-C body to use it on. Really appreciate what Nikon gave us with the kit lenses on Nikon Z DX which are far superior to Canon RF-S and Sony E mount kit lenses (based on the stellar reviews, no personal experience with them yet).
Also, to be fair, since switching to mirrorless from dslr, I've used the backscreen more often then I care to admit.
There are some very specific scenarios where I need to use the EVF and its on sunny days or if I need to track something.

Something that can record long videos without overheat
The only one DSLR I see for sale that is not over $1,000 is the D7500 for $500 body only. You can use this as a web cam, but it will take quite a few pieces of equipment to get it ready. Apart from the camera and lens, you will need a mini HDMI to HDMI cable to connect to your camera. The other end will connect to a video card. The video card has a HDMI port on one end and a USB-A or USB-C on the other end of the video card. To keep the power running, you will need a dummy battery that fits into the camera and a DC adapter to plug into the wall to avoid draining your battery when streaming online. On your camera settings menu, select the standby time to infinity, so the camera does not shut off while it's on standby. You can go on Zoom and search for your video card to select it under video, and you should see yourself using a DSLR camera.
If I were you and you want to use your camera as a web cam, I would recommend the Z30 with one lens for $426, $500 with two lenses. The other option is the Z50 with one lens for $500. The autofocus is much better than a DSLR and you would just need a USB-C cable to plug one end into your camera and the other end into your computer to use your camera as web cam. This is more efficient than the other pieces of equipment you need for the DSLR. I'm sure there's a better way for the DSLR configuration, but this is the one I'm familiar with and know it works. Hope this helps.

For what it is, I'm really happy with it. AF is reliable enough, and the 16-50 is significantly better than the 15-45 EF-M I had, along with the terrible Fuji 18-55 I had with my X-S10 before dumping it. IQ is above both my old Canon M5 and the Fuji.
That said, you can't get around physics, and of course my Z5+24-70/S blows it out of the water, especially when shooting RAW and pulling/pushing exposure. On the other hand, 90% of the photos I have printed in my house were shot with a combination of various APS-C cameras with kit lenses as the best camera is the one you have on you.
There's certainly times I miss the EVF, but it also means it's smaller.

So I'd say close to brand new but probably a bit higher chance of an issue. At these prices, totally worth it.
