Gas line is not that bad it is very low psi you can literally stop it with your finger, watch some good videos and you can do it easy

I was too. If you are not comfortable hire someone. If you want to tackle get yellow gas line tape to wrap the threads and use 2 wrenches to undo the existing. One to hold the output and the other to unscrew the existing line so you don't torque and crack it. Know where your far end cutoff is in your utility room before hand just in case (there should be a cut off local to the appliance and one on the far end as well.) This was the hardest part for me as the old line was on their pretty tight hence the 2 wrenches. Mix some soap and water in a bottle to spray it after and check for leaks (will create bubbles if so.) But again, no shame in hiring a pro if you aren't comfortable.

I too refuse to mess with gas unless it's a straight rip and replace in place. E.g. no running new lines, adapters, etc.

As a complete side note, one thing that surprises me is why don't modern range burners have thermal shutoffs (thermocouples) at the burners like fireplaces to prevent gas from flowing if a burner goes out, e.g. a pot boils over? They are like $8 retail https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NXFRSVI but I've never seen them in ranges. Genuinely curious. Only thought about this when exactly this happened. Boiling pasta spilled over and flamed out, letting gas flow for a minute until my gas detector went off.
