I have Ego and Dewalt, but primarily Ego for outdoor equipment. I need a polesaw. Anyone able to compare this one between the Ego? My initial thoughts are that this might be a little underpowered.

All I can say is that I purchased the 20V chainsaw not long ago and used it twice before it stopped working. Contacted DeWalt and after several hours on the phone, they had me ship it back to them for repair. I think it'll be a while before I buy another DeWalt outdoor product.

This thing tackles any problem I have. It's also become my safety chainsaw, for when I don't feel like putting on PPE. My only gripe is the length isn't great, but that's an electric polesaw thing

Same, I'm not doing anything heavy duty obviously but it has been reliable for my basic needs.

Appreciate this one, bought it and it shipped fast. The battery alone was a major reason to buy, extra chain, charger, battery and saw. Plus allowed to stack use with military discount. Thanks much.

I'll also add that I really like this. Used it to cut up a fallen tree that was about a foot or so in diameter, no problem. Been very happy with it. I don't have other chain saw history to compare to, but I definitely recommend it. I was looking for Ego as well and recommended this.

Already had DeWalt batteries. Bought it from CPO Outlet refurb on eBay with the eBay warranty.

I guess I'm the odd one out here. I've had this for a couple years, and it works. It's not a power house, it typically tears the wood some due to being underpowered, and the bar oil leaks. But it works okay for general home owner uses.

Really? I bought one with one of the 6ah promos a couple months ago. Been beating it up pretty good and surprised at how good it is. A bit slow going through hard stuff but for cleaning up around the property it's great.

The Ego pole saw with the adaptable power head is actually pretty phenomenal. Cuts really well. It took several years before I needed to sharpen the blade. I will say you need a 4.5mm sharpener though, which isn't a common size but not impossible to find. It just won't come in a standard kit. I like that I can add the extension to my Ego as well, making it pretty damn long. Thing sips battery, so 2.5 aH batteries do a pretty good job. One might cover a standard 1/3 acre lot for spring trimming. I have a 6 acre lot, and a business, and I am constantly cutting limbs with it. I have 2x 2.5 aH and a 5aH battery, which between the 3 and a fast charger, I never run out of juice. Can trim all day. The only drawbacks are that the chain it ships with is a rebranded Oregon chain allegedly, but it does stretch a bit at the start and jumps off the rail guide. So you'll be tightening the chain frequently at first. But once stretched it's pretty rock solid. The only other gripe is that when storing it, I just empty the chain oil chamber back into the container because it leaks out the oil weep hole slowly when stored. But the ego pole saw is one of my favorite tools. Cuts better than the 18" ego chainsaw!

Thanks! I ended up picking it up. What is the best way to store it? I am completely unfamiliar with anything more than hedge trimmers.
