That being said this is a great headset and I used it for 4 years straight daily and gave up the steel series ghost outta nowhere. I've swapped to speakers and mics as I'm on conf calls way more nowadays and I just like that better.
If I was in the market for a headset and this was $20 cheaper, I'd jump in a heartbeat.
Pro tip for the Nova Pros - Those are comfortable by default but have leather pads that can get hot over time. If you do not care about noise isolation, get compatible gel or porous pads (available for just a couple of dollars from AliExpress). You'll find them to be much more comfortable.
Oooh thank you for that info!
1. The Arctis Pro (this headset) is compatible with PS5 and PC, via a USB port (mini-USB on the back), and it also has an optical port on the back, which it calls 'PS4' in its input options (they should have just renamed it to 'Optical' via a firmware update). The Nova Pro on the other hand has two USB ports (and no optical port). Depending on the version you get, they may be compatible with PS5+PC, or PS5+PC+XBox (the XBox version has greater compatibility but the XBox port provides lower bitrate; so if you do not have an XBox at all, get the PS5+PC version).
2. The Arctis Pro does NOT have noise cancellation, while the Nova Pros has noise cancellation; though it's only serviceable at best. Not as good as Sony or Bose options. I always keep noise cancellation off on those. Both headsets have Bluetooth.
3. Sound quality is similar on both. Technically, the older Arctis Pro has a larger driver, so its sound quality might be slightly better on paper. Even the technical specification show that the Arctis Pro supporting a wider frequency response. But in practice, I don't find any difference that I can discern.
In the end, I would recommend buying the one that serves your use case the best. The BIGGEST advantage of the Arctis Pro is actually what most people may not care about — its optical port. I have a desktop monitor with an optical out. And I have multiple devices connected to the monitor (PC, Mac, PS5, Fire Stick). Since audio from HDMI source is extracted to the optical port on it's own, I can simply switch the input on the monitor to the device being used, and audio to the headphones automatically switches to the input device, without me having to unplug and re-plug something. I cannot do that with the Nova Pros; I would have to physically move the Nova-pro base from device to device. Of course, there are other ways to achieve multi-source audio, but none are as seamless as simply having one optical cable from the monitor to the base station.
If one does not care about this use case, I would recommend buying the Nova Pros (highly recommend swapping out the ear-cups to a breathable material though). But even then, if you just need a set for PS5 or PC compatibility, the Arctis Pro at this price might be the better option. Just be mindful that Arctis Pro have been known to break, so handle them carefully. I've had mine for maybe a decade now, and they are still going strong.
I've had 3 pairs of this headset. I've had the arctis pro, currently use the nova pro, and I had the version before they went all "arctis." I've had battery charging issues on all of them but the nova - it has been an issue for many years on their support pages.
I found to kind of fix the issue you can get an external battery charger off Amazon for like 10 bucks and that fixed all of my battery issues.

This is the one I ordered back in 2016 and it still works
edit: misread the battery part of your message and see its just the indicator. NM

These were not built with ANC. If you'd like better noise isolation you can always go to the steel series website or Amazon and get some faux leather ear cuffs. Much better isolation with those.
I have the same issue, headset says the battery is dead, I pop it in the base and it's at 60+ % every time. Happens on both batteries, only issue I have with the headset.

This is the version without the swappable batteries. Otherwise steelseries headsets are always good and this one is great.
