I had the same issue until I selected a store with the product that could ship to me. Then shipping went to free.

I think Home Depot has the same deal, but the pictures didn't look like the XR despite the title...

They rebranded all the non flexvolt batteries lately, xr is removed from non powerstack/powerpack batteries now. If anything those batteries will be "newer" than the "xr" ones they replace.
