I would skip this and spend $120 more to get a real carpet cleaner, i.e. The Big Green, that goes on sale all the time. The performance is night and day

Just FYI about this carpet cleaner:

1. The brushes still spin when you use the hose attachment, and if you keep it running too long it starts to smell like burned rubber.

2. It's not a steam cleaner, it just keeps the water warm.

3. It's suction power is weak. The shark carpet expert is best, but if you want something cheaper, the Hoover powerscrub XL is $150 at Walmart and has bigger capacity and good suction.

4. The Vacuum Wars guy is a moron who doesn't know how to test products.

5. The Bissell Big Green fails all tests, but the real wold performance is mind blowing. However it is HUGE, heavy, and extremely loud. Only get it if you're only doing the first floor of your house.

Could you share the model number or name brand of the big green? Is it made by Bissell?

Thanks! This is super helpful, I tried the Hoover TurboScurb XL and it felt like the brush heads didn't spin very fast for deep cleaningThe 5 year warranty and Costco warranty gives me some reassurance

The agitation isn't as important as the suction. Getting out dirty water is key, and this is why the Big Green is so good - it doesn't have the best suction, but it can **MAINTAIN** constant suction. The motor is powerful and hardy. However I got the shark instead because I have carpet on my second floor and getting the Big Green up the stairs is I too difficult.

How is hoover powerscrub deluxe in comparison to this one? Got it for $119 last week from Costco. Wont mind returning it and spending extra $50 on this one. It's still in box unopened.

I ended up going down a rabbit hole and ordered the shark carpet cleaner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6YL-IM20Ig

The Bissell proheat 2x was that guy's previous top recommendation. And there's something to be said for buying it from Costco.
