This is what I found on a quick Google search
- Identical/nearly identical to the Acer FA200
- Controller: MAP1602A, NAND Flash: BWN0AQF1B1HCAD
- Does not have DRAM
- The Acer FA200 and Yottamaster have been well reviewed, even accounting for the non-discounted MSRP price

Seems like the right price for the uncertainty of reliability and warranty support if you should need it.
Everything I'm reading about YMTC says that in February 2025 Samsung signed a licensing agreement with YMTC to use its patented hybrid bonding technology in next-generation NAND flash production.
It's not stolen, it's licensed. They can just produce it for less.

QLC and wouldn't hold my breath for durability or support, but maybe this would work in someone's very light write case?

Anyone got info on this drive? I've been waiting on a 4tb to drop $150 range. This seems like a good deal.

I'd be using it as a game library, not an important storage drive btw.

Not a ton of rewrites on a gaming machine, so it should be great for that.

In41 for my Bazzite Linux Steam machine.

Getting warmer. Now that the chinese memory company YMTC has stolen all of Samsung's technologies, SSDs and memory should be cheaper. These are selling for around $90 in shenzhen. I am guessing we have further price falls coming.

I think it would be a good choice for PS5, not too much writing operation needed

Very tempted to get it to install it on my ps5, install all my purchases, and make sure to set my PS5 to offline play to play single player games after witnessing what happened during the PSN outage

I have a few of 4T drives for about 120 dollars a about a year or two ago from amazon. the price fall happened, but the price in the U.S. went back up due to other reasons.

Yotta get a Samsung or WD drive if you're concerned about this brand.

What drives were those so I can watch them?
