You have to turn off the cellular chip or the battery will drain faster. And like the other guy said it seems like if you turn off the cellular trip the battery life still isnt quite as good.
Honeslty the best watch for the money. Still use mine and out lasts the new ones
I've had both versions of the Watch 4. Anecdotally, I felt like the cellular version had slightly worse battery life even when I turned the cellular radio off.

Cellular version is the same price. Would there be any downside getting the cellular version if you end up not activating it?

I have the same question. I read that the lte models "don't have call and text on other devices" feature. Here is the thread, but not much information: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyWa...mr920_and/

do you need to get an individual plan for the watch?

I had an LTE version of the 46mm classic. I tried to deactivate the LTE (or not activate) and it had terrible battery life. I'm thinking about this watch 5 and I will get the non LTE even at the same price.

I see rebelo for $59.99 and backmarket for 64.19. both site seem legit.
But they might be in lower conditions.

Yes. The watch has its own eSIM number. So you'd need to sign up with your cell provider for a new plan.

To be clear, this is really only helpful if you want to use your watch independently of your phone. I.e. going for a run and stream music but leave your phone at home.

If you don't get a separate plan for your watch, everything works as long as your watch is within Bluetooth range of your phone (or potentially on the same wifi)

Who refurbished them? New battery? These are likely trade-ins from Samsung being bulk sold.

100% this. I just bought a Galaxy Watch Ultra, and I'm struggling to get rid of my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Sure, it's a bit slower than my new one, but its battery life is insane.
Galaxy Watch Ultra lasts me 1.5-2.5 days of battery, while my old Galaxy Watch 5 Pro regularly lasted me 2.5-5d. It's an insane difference. You'd think something titled "Ultra" and costing as much as it does would be the universally superior product.
