To be clear, this is really only helpful if you want to use your watch independently of your phone. I.e. going for a run and stream music but leave your phone at home.
If you don't get a separate plan for your watch, everything works as long as your watch is within Bluetooth range of your phone (or potentially on the same wifi)

I got an Apple smartwatch, have an iPhone. With my provider, Consumer Cellular, the watch works on the same line (phone number) as the phone. It costs me $5 extra a month for the watch. (Of course, that is before the myriads of fees and taxes).
The watch came in great condition, but indeed a very tiny scuff on the screen thick as a hair and about 1/4" length visible if you look very careful and especially when screen is off.
Other than this, the watch works as expected and the battery last about 2 days for me.
Personally, and based on my simple needs, I would recommend this.
I'm tempted to buy this watch and use it when I go swimming.
However, I have a sneaky suspicion these watches have been opened and therefore may not have the same water resistance as a new watch.
That said, the Allstate Warranty is easy to claim, there's no cons buying this watch.
