Indeed I have this model. Both can be independently toggled on & off under the settings tab.

Solid deal. Expect prices to go up soon with tariffs and the recent news that Hongkong Post is going to suspend service to the United States.

Yup, sucks because these are fun little hobby toys. There's no way it becomes feasible to sell these things in America for these tiny Chinese manufacturers moving forward and it's just not something that will ever be produced domestically for $50

Thanks for finding this. I've been waiting to get one of these (or similar) for my son but he's just a bit too young to appreciate it. Sadly I think by the time he's old enough to enjoy it, this tariff war is going to make these dry up. Might as well get it now.

Good luck. I thought my little one would enjoy games from back when but he just laughed.

Can someone weigh in on this ecosystem. I'm always a little tempted by this only for someone to be like ACTUALLY THIS VERSION IS MUCH BETTER OR CHEAPER or whatever. I can't make heads or tails of what's a good deal.

The is no BEST and better is subjective. It all depends on which consoles you plan to emulate, if you like vertical or horizontal shaped devices, how you like your buttons to feel, your budget, etc. What are you interested in?

Coupon code looks dead to me. Copy/pasted code, but the "apply coupon code" button was greyed out

Depends on what your use case is. As far as the Anbernic line goes, most of the recent XX model handhelds will have the same specs, just different form factors. I'll cover a few devices I'm familiar with (I purchase way too many of these things!). This line of handhelds will play up to Dreamcast/PSP (not all Dreamcast or PSP games will play perfectly).
-RG28XX: 2.8 inch screen. Fairly small device. Purchase if you value ultimate portablity.
-RG34XX: 3.4 inch screen. Resembles the classic Game Boy Advanced.
-RG35XX H: 3.5 inch screen. In my opinion, this is the device to get for the best balance of portability and comfort.
-RG35XX SP: 3.5 inch screen. Resembles the Game Boy Advanced SP.
-RG35XX: A vertical version of the RG35XXH. resembles the game boy.
-RG40XX H: 4 inch screen. A bit more comfortable than the RG35XX H, but also a bit bigger.
-RG Cube XX: 4 inch 1:1 screen. This is great for NES, Game Boy, and Pico8 games.
