doubtful that this is properly certified, so it might not be legal to fill it at a gas station nor to carry it in a vehicle :/ given, no one will know.
edit: funny how SD crowd is very particular about power cords being ETL/UL certified, but for a gas can who cares 😆 maybe it's a different subgroup

There's a certification for a gas can?

I have two of these bought on ebay a few years back I am almost sure they come from the same supplier or similar enough. They are ok, but they'll lose shape and expand with gas and tip over easy. Thin metal that also rust on the outside, Im sure would on the inside if left empty long enough as well. Spend a little more or just get a plastic can or two at this price.
Do you see the comment about how this one...tips over, deforms, bulges, and rusts? lol
There's a reason for specs. This probably violates OSHA for work vehicles. You do you though 👍.
At least in my state every gas pump has a sign about how it is illegal to dispense fuel into unapproved containers. I think any legit gas canister will have the approval stamped into it
I've had these cans for at least 10 years. They're great for long term storage. I set them on a board in my garage rather than directly on the concrete to prevent rusting. Just filled them again last night for the generator because we got a nasty storm
These were $50 each shipped 10 years ago.
Also, the gas can police do not exist. No one is going to bother you. You could dispense gas into a trash bag and maybe get stopped by an attendant 1/25 times.
