I opened one of them, and I can see lots of rust. I gues the salt from the sweat leaked in and killed it. So, take the IPX7 with a grain of salt.
For $8, it may be OK as a disposable set after few weeks though

Edited to say that I got mine yesterday and I am very pleased with the sound. No idea how long they will hold up but they sound good to me.
The main issue is the sound. They have very weak mids and, while a very v-shaped sound signature may appeal some, they suffers distortion in the lows even at 60/70% volume. The result is a soulless and scratching sound signature. In my quick test, after playing with skipping track back and forth, the buds started loosing connection with brief sound pauses every few seconds. This was fixed by putting them back in the case and reconnecting them, but it's consistent with many reviews reporting connection issues. On the positive side they are comfortable and the physical buttons easy to use. I would not argue with the value, for $8 there's little to hope for, but if your aim is being engaged by the music while working out, these fails terribly and you would better save your money and invest in something better. On offer, there are decent buds in the $30-40 range.

The sound quality was SO POOR that I dropped one of the buds on my work commute train, it went 2 rows behind me and these weren't worth the trouble of getting the earpiece back, all of 5 feet away.
At 39$ no..no..
As back up at $2 is good keep in office bag as back up...
