I had the same question as my 12yo daughter is needing/requesting one for music class… However the first rule of Slickdeals is Buy first, ask questions later, then return if not suitable!! Better than missing out on what seems like a great deal! I can't find this guitar used for less then $300-350

Was gonna check this out but realized I already had Gretsch G2622 in my cart which is like 20$ more. Any suggestions on which one to go for?

Bought. I got the solid body blue gretsch with the bigsby from back in like November, I love it, great sound. This seems like a good deal, reviews were decent when listed price was 450 so I'm thinking for half that it's a good buy.

I'm going to say yes. 1st, the price. Very good for a low end Gretch. 2nd, it's a Jr. meaning that it is smaller than a regular size Gretch, so easier for younger (smaller) folk to work with. 3rd, double cut. you'll have access to the entire fret board without any awkward hand positioning. 4th, and this may or may not be viable...it's has cut outs in the body, which aren't as good as a dedicated sound hole in an acoustic, but may give some volume when playing it without an amp (which you need to get as well). Also since it has those cut out in the body that would indicate it isn't a heavy solid body so it will be overall lighter. I've bought a few guitars and other items from Adorama and they're a solid company to buy from. A first guitar is either going to be played for a bit and then abandoned or it will get played a lot and will eventually take some abuse. Either way, you can probably sell it for what you paid if it's orphaned, or you'll get your monies worth out of it if you play it till you feel you need to move up to something with higher specs or different sound.

G2622 has bigger body. I prefer ergonomics of junior size 2655 better, despite being 6'2" 250 lbs. But I always use strap, without it 2655 suffers from significant neck dive, 2622 should be better balanced.

It's a good 3 or 4th guitar. Great quality that bats $500 over it's price point.

This deal has come and gone a couple times at Adorama and I pulled the trigger a couple months ago. It's a fantastic guitar for the price.

Yep, it would make an excellent first guitar. These Indonesian Gretsches are much lighter than average and FAR better quality what you typically see on the wall of your local guitar store in the price range.

It arrived today and it sounds great! Plus the finish is gorgeous. The build quality seems top notch for the price I paid
