Looks like a great price for orbital action. I prefer my orbital action sawzal when im cutting thick roots. Big difference in speed and power. I don't have any batteries or i'd try it.

Kobalt tools are great. Kobalt batteries stink. I've had to warranty or exchange no less than 8 batteries for their cells going bad and failing to charge fully.

As for the saw, it's a monster and I like it a lot.

I got the normal Kobalt 24v recip saw when it was free with the $79 Kobalt case with 2 4ah batteries and charger. I was actually planning on selling it to recoup some of the cost but used it after the crazy windstorm in California with a 4 day blackout of power. My Milwaukee Fuel Sawzall ran out of batteries so I decided to try the Kobalt to remove some trees that fell. Wow, I was surprised at how well it worked, not as good as my Fuel, but it wasn't that much slower considering the price difference. I am almost tempted to buy this to use in our RV and keep the Milwaukee at home.....hmmmm

Reciprocating saws are used for things like demolition and tree trimming. They are not for exact cuts

You can get battery adapters for other brands off that auction site that starts with the letter 'e'

I have a ridgid to ryobi adapter. You gotta be careful tho because not all combinations work
