Lots of fakes out there. However, ego says if it ships and is sold by Amazon, then it is an authorized retailer. So this should be OK.

That doesn't necessarily guarantee that you'll get an authentic product; Amazon is notorious for co-mingling third party inventory (which includes potential knock-offs) with first-party inventory, as long as the incoming sku matches.

Side bar: IMO Amazon is slowly becoming Aliexpress but with more markup, I'm done with them.

You didn't mention anything about if the warranty is covered with purchases through Amazon?

The EGO POWER+ Battery 56V, 2.5Ah comes with a three-year warranty. However, it's important to note that the warranty is only valid when purchased from an authorized EGO dealer.

How was that process & what was wrong with the battery? How long did it take to get resolved?
Not necessarily related to this battery post, but I may have to do warranty on mine

When bought on Amazon through the Ego store, it's covered. When you go to register the battery, Amazon LLC is a listed place of purchase. I have purchased multiple items via the Ego Amazon store and no issues.

I pulled the trigger as I've been needing a 2nd battery. I have a 750cm blower and power load string trimmer, and the one 2.5ah battery always died on me before I could finish my yard. I use my string trimmer more like an edger, and it really moves a lot of dirt. After using my Amazon Rewards points, I'm out of pocket about $60. My current gear was old demo gear that Lowe's was cutting loose. Pro Tip, if you see a demo item at Lowes, just take it to customer service and offer like 50% of the sticker price. A manager will have to make the call, but often times they'll take it. I believe regular employees can knock down prices a max $50.00 w/out mgt approval. I wish I knew about the 50% thing, because I only got $50 knocked off the asking price, but probably could have saved even more money. That being said, $150 for an Ego blower, string trimmer with 2.5ah battery and charger isn't too shabby, either.

The battery no longer would charge, I called support on Tuesday for warranty. The mower with battery was purchased July 2024 on Amazon, I was asked to send a photo via email with it showing the model, date and that it was purchased by amazon.

I was asked to perform a few hard resets for trouble shooting and give them the serial number off of the battery. I received a replacement last night, was an easy process.

I had a similar battery issue on my 4ah that came with my snow blower. It would immediately start flashing red when I plug it in. I found a YouTube video that showed the issue and how they revived it. I had gotten another set of 5ah on a previous sale and was able to get the 4ah to start charging again. (They were out of warranty.)
