A proper bike computer would be preferable if your main use is biking

My son has the Instinct 2x Solar Tactical and he loves it. He doesn't bike, he is a runner. He has said only positive things about it.

I have been a garmin user/wearer since the forerunner 405. Currently wearing a 745.

Only thing that would turn me away is if they move to a subscription-based model. I'm wary of this Garmin Connect+ bust as long as they don't move current features behind that wall I'm not getting too bent out of shape about it.

Would totally recommend Garmin, don't own this device but I'm sure it's great... to the guy asking about using it for cycling, as was mentioned there are other devices (which can also be found on sale) that may better suit your overall needs.

The Garmin "S" model watches are smaller sized, intended mostly for women. The regular Garmin Instinct 2 watch often costs about the same.

I had a Garmin Instinct 2 for about two weeks. Coming from an Apple Watch, I didn't know what to expect.

I was pleasantly surprised by how accurate the fitness functionality was. It was precise compared to the AWU2, and battery life was remarkable.

The downside for me was the limited configuration options for notifications. It's kind of an all-or-nothing kind of thing. I like to receive specific notifications on my watch, not all of that.

For that reason, and that reason alone, I returned mine.

If you go in expecting a fitness-focused watch with notifications that is not an extension of your phone, it's outstanding.

I'm pretty sure they will soon move all good features to paid subscribers only. Every big company is following apple. Just look at the latest fenix 8 model prices, anyways i own fenix 5x plus, 6 and 7x saphhire solar so i guess im good for another 5,7 years atleast.

I have the Instinct 2, and my wife has the Instinct 2s. It's a good fit for her, being smaller. She uses it for all kinds of cardio workouts, weight lifting, hiking, etc and likes it better than any other smartwatch she's ever had. The battery lasts two or three weeks, not quite as my Instinct 2 but still plenty log in between charges. It is very durable and even does fine with snorkeling and shallow diving in the ocean.
It's a very solid product for someone who is active and wanting to track activities.

Love mine.

I have a Garmin bike computer, and pair my watch to that to track heart rate during rides.
