As a runner i have been using garmin watches for almost a decade and will never switch to any other brand.

Only thing that would turn me away is if they move to a subscription-based model. I'm wary of this Garmin Connect+ bust as long as they don't move current features behind that wall I'm not getting too bent out of shape about it.
Would totally recommend Garmin, don't own this device but I'm sure it's great... to the guy asking about using it for cycling, as was mentioned there are other devices (which can also be found on sale) that may better suit your overall needs.

I was pleasantly surprised by how accurate the fitness functionality was. It was precise compared to the AWU2, and battery life was remarkable.
The downside for me was the limited configuration options for notifications. It's kind of an all-or-nothing kind of thing. I like to receive specific notifications on my watch, not all of that.
For that reason, and that reason alone, I returned mine.
If you go in expecting a fitness-focused watch with notifications that is not an extension of your phone, it's outstanding.

It's a very solid product for someone who is active and wanting to track activities.

I have a Garmin bike computer, and pair my watch to that to track heart rate during rides.
